The Music for Jink & Diddle 2012 will be drawn from the 1793 William Shepherd collection, and the 1800 William Shepherd collection, which have been made available online by the Highland Music Trust. The entire 26 page collection may be downloaded here. http://www.heallan.com/shepherd.html If you are registering or registered for Jink & Diddle 2012, you should downoad the pdf file of the music in the Shepherd collection. This page will include midi files (.mid) of the tunes in the Shepherd collection as an aid to becoming familiar with the music in the collection. They should play with almost any media player or music transcription program that can read standard midi files. LARGE FORMAT PDF FILEAt Jink & Diddle, depending on your eyesight, it may be helpful to have larger sheet music. If you have access to a large format printer, one that can handle pages that are 11 inches wide, you can print the Shepherd collection in a large 11 x 14 format from the pdf file which will be made available later in 2012. I receommend 11 x 14 art paper suitable for ink drawings, medium smooth texture, and in 90 - 109 pound weight so it will be stiff enough to stay upright on a music stand. This type of paper is available in tablet form in art supply stores and from art supplies stores over the internet. You will have to carefully remove sheets from the tablet for printing. Depending on your printer's margin requirements, you may need to reduce the size slightly. |
