Sara and Maynard perform many programs in period attire, either in 18th Century American colonial and early Federal period attire or in early 19th Century American.
Instruments include the hammered dulcimer and cello, fiddle, kit (dance master’s pocket fiddle or pochette), recorders and flageolets.
Depending on the venue, the program and the weather, we may also include harpsichord, English guitar and citterns.
And further dependent on venue, we may appear with fiddler and violin maker Michael Thompson and perhaps other fiddlers, as Rogues’ Consort.
|
We have given presentions, with music and in period attire, varying from short 20 - 30 minute presentations to 50 - 60 minute programs, to a series of several 20 minute programs during the course of an all day event. When possible we like to include time for questions from the audience, and perhaps audience participation in a song.
The following is a sampling of program themes. Of course, we can can mix and match parts of more than one theme. Depending on venue and time, the amount of material covered may vary.
